Who this notice applies to
This notice applies to Odyssey Strategic Advisors LLC ("OSA," "we," "us") and to personal information we collect through odysseystrategicadvisors.com, our forms and scheduling tools, our email and text communications, and our calls. Client documents and taxpayer information handled in our separate secure onboarding portal are also covered by your engagement agreement and any tax-information consent you sign there.
Information we collect and where it comes from
From you. Identifiers and contact details (name, email address, telephone number); your answers to our survey, which may include income ranges, type of income (for example W-2 wages, equity compensation, or business income), state of residence, and goals; scheduling details; and anything you tell us by email, text, or call. If you become a client, information needed for the engagement, including financial and tax information.
Automatically. Our hosting provider records technical data needed to deliver and secure the site, such as IP address, device and browser type, pages requested, and referring URL. Where we use analytics or advertising tools, they may also collect approximate location, clicks and scrolls, advertising click identifiers, and similar data through cookies, pixels, and comparable technologies. Our Cookie Policy lists the tools currently in use.
From others. Advertising and social media platforms (for example, that you clicked one of our ads), referral partners, and professionals you authorize to share information with us.
Please do not send sensitive identifiers through this site. Do not submit Social Security numbers, taxpayer identification numbers, account numbers, tax documents, or credentials through a web form or ordinary email. If we need them for an engagement, we will provide a secure method.
How we use information
To respond to your inquiry; schedule and hold consultations; evaluate whether our services fit your situation; send you information you asked for and follow-up by email, phone, and (if you opted in) text; provide and administer services; maintain records required for professional and legal purposes; secure, debug, and improve the site; measure and improve our advertising, including building audiences on advertising platforms; and comply with law and protect our rights.
We do not use your information to make automated decisions that produce legal or similarly significant effects about you. We may use your survey answers to prioritize or route inquiries.
Who we share information with
Service providers. Providers that process information for us under contract, including our customer relationship, scheduling, and messaging platform (GoHighLevel), our database and hosting providers (Supabase and Vercel), email and telephony providers, and session-analytics tools.
Advertising and analytics partners. Where we place their tags on this site, platforms such as Meta and Google receive device and browsing information; we may also provide them hashed contact information. We do this to measure our ads and show relevant ads. These partners may use the data for their own purposes under their own policies.
Professionals working on your matter. With your knowledge, your own CPA or attorney, a designated preparation provider named in your engagement, and McClintock Tax Law LLC where you separately engage that firm.
Affiliates. Entities under common ownership with OSA, for purposes consistent with this notice. We do not share tax return information with affiliates for marketing without the consent the law requires.
Legal and business reasons. Where required by law, subpoena, or regulation; to establish, exercise, or defend legal claims; to protect safety or prevent fraud; or in connection with a merger, financing, or sale of all or part of our business.
Sale and sharing of personal information
We do not sell personal information for money. However, where we use advertising cookies or pixels, or provide hashed contact information to advertising platforms, that may be a "sale" or "sharing" for cross-context behavioral advertising, or "targeted advertising," under California and other state laws. The categories involved are identifiers and internet or network activity, disclosed to advertising and analytics partners. We do not knowingly sell or share personal information of anyone under 16.
Text messages (SMS)
If you check the text-message box on a form, you agree to receive text messages from OSA about scheduling and your inquiry, which may be sent using automated technology. Consent is not a condition of any purchase. Message frequency varies. Message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to opt out at any time and HELP for help, or contact hello@odysseystrategicadvisors.com. Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.
No mobile information will be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. Text-message opt-in data and consent are excluded from every category of sharing described in this notice and will not be shared with any third party, except service providers that deliver messages on our behalf.
Every marketing email we send includes an unsubscribe link, and we honor requests promptly. We may still send you transactional or relationship messages, such as appointment confirmations.
Financial and tax information
Where we obtain non-public personal financial information in connection with services to an individual, we do not disclose it to non-affiliated third parties except as permitted by law or as needed to perform the engagement, and we restrict internal access to those who need it. We maintain an information security program designed to meet the FTC Safeguards Rule under the Gramm-Leach-Bliley Act where it applies.
We use and disclose tax return information only as permitted under Internal Revenue Code section 7216 and its regulations, which generally require your written consent before use or disclosure for purposes other than preparing your return. If we are required to provide a separate financial privacy notice, we will deliver it at the start of the relationship and as required thereafter.
How long we keep information
We keep inquiry and lead information for as long as needed to respond and follow up, and generally no longer than three years after our last contact with you unless you become a client. Client engagement records are kept for the period required by professional, tax, and legal recordkeeping obligations, generally at least seven years after the engagement ends. Opt-out and suppression records are kept so we can honor them.
Security
We maintain administrative, technical, and physical safeguards appropriate to the sensitivity of the information we hold, including encryption in transit and access controls. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security. If a breach affects you, we will notify you as the law requires.
Your privacy rights (California and other states)
Depending on where you live, including California, Virginia, Colorado, Connecticut, Utah, Texas, Oregon, Montana, and other states with comprehensive privacy laws, you may have the right to: know what personal information we collect, use, and disclose; access a copy of it in a portable format; correct inaccurate information; delete it; opt out of its sale, sharing, or use for targeted advertising or profiling; and not receive discriminatory treatment for exercising these rights. We do not use or disclose sensitive personal information for purposes that would require offering a right to limit.
Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information. To opt out, email hello@odysseystrategicadvisors.com with the subject line "Do Not Sell or Share." We treat a Global Privacy Control (GPC) browser signal as a valid opt-out request for that browser. Where we offer cookie preferences on the site, you can also reject advertising cookies there.
Making a request. Email hello@odysseystrategicadvisors.com. We will verify your request by matching information you provide against what we hold, and will respond within the time required by law (generally 45 days). You may use an authorized agent, who must provide proof of authorization. If we deny your request, you may appeal by replying to our decision with the subject line "Appeal"; if you disagree with the outcome, you may contact your state attorney general.
Do Not Track
There is no common standard for browser "Do Not Track" signals, so we do not respond to them. We do honor Global Privacy Control as described above.
Children
This site is intended for adults and is not directed to children under 16. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 16. If you believe we have, contact us and we will delete it.
Visitors outside the United States
This site is intended for persons in the United States, and information is stored and processed in the United States. If you access it from elsewhere, you do so on your own initiative and understand that U.S. law applies.
