Build the models that decide what a client can actually use, across several years rather than one.
Remote, United StatesFull time
Why this seat exists
The distance between a headline deduction and a usable one is where this firm earns its fee. Somebody has to compute that distance properly, every time.
What you would own
- 01Build multi-year projections of income, liability, and the limitations that apply to each client
- 02Model AMT corridors for option holders and the timing of exercises across years
- 03Test proposed positions against basis, at-risk, passive activity, and excess business loss limits
- 04Model state exposure and conformity, including for clients contemplating a move
- 05Maintain the model library so the same analysis is not rebuilt from scratch each time
- 06Produce the numbers that go into the written strategy, and be able to defend every one of them
What we are looking for
- Strong quantitative ability and genuine fluency in a spreadsheet, including multi-scenario modeling
- Working knowledge of individual and pass-through taxation, or the demonstrated capacity to acquire it quickly
- Precision. This role produces numbers that clients act on
- Comfort saying that a model does not support the conclusion somebody wanted
Useful, not required
- CPA, EA, or CFA, or progress toward one
- Experience in tax planning, valuation, or financial modeling
- Any exposure to equity compensation analysis
What we offer
- Substantive technical work from the start, not data entry
- Direct mentorship from the Director of Tax and the principals
- A clear path toward a senior technical or advisory seat
